Mr. Robbins is a career energy lawyer whose practice is focused on electric resource and transmission management, operation, and regulation for electric utilities (principally municipal and cooperative electric systems), regulators, and large end-users of electric power. Alan’s clients include municipal joint action agencies, generation and transmission cooperatives, state regulatory commissions, individual municipal and cooperative electric systems, larger end-users, and other market participants.

Alan’s practice entails helping clients interface with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on regulatory procedures, tariff and other rate filings, merger proceedings, and hydroelectric licensing and licensing compliance. Much of his work focuses on helping clients interact with Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs), including MISO, PJM, SPP, and CAISO. Mr. Robbins is also active in project development, including hydroelectric facilities and other renewable resources. Much of this work involves the development of project participation agreements, and power purchase and sale agreements. Transmission matters related to new projects is commonly involved as well.

Mr. Robbins has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in the field of energy law. He has also been named in Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers® in Energy and Natural Resources, Utilities, and Administrative Law.
